"WE ARE DISAPPOINTED IN FINANCE MINISTER FOR IGNORING GHANA DRUKARDS ASSOCIATION IN MID- YEAR BUDGET", MOSES DRY BONE.
The 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review was presented to Parliament by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, on Thursday, July 23, 2026. The budget review focused on macroeconomic recovery, fiscal discipline, and debt sustainability without introducing new taxes.
During a phone interview with Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi on the Ghana Nti Morning Show, Moses Dry Bone, President of the Drunkards Association, stated that they are disappointed in Ato Forson for not including them in the budget.
Moses Dry Bone, whose birth name is Moses Onyah, is the outspoken president of the Ghana Drunkards Association, a satirical yet prominent social advocacy group in Ghana. He stated, "We are disappointed in the Minister of Finance, Ato Forson for ignoring the Ghana Drunkards Association in the mid-year budget". He humorously stated that even Ato Forson is a default member of the association, so he's very sad that after gaining the position of Finance Minister, he decided to ignore them.
In both last year's budget and this year's, Ato Forson didn't include the drunkards, so very soon he will be given a letter of indefinite suspension from the group because of his behavior and then a petition will be sent to President Mahama to replace him. He stated that the association has 18.7 million members, and the membership continues to grow every day.
Moses Dry stated that they conducted research and found that in various institutions, drivers and assembly members are the ones most frequently found drinking. The rate at which lotto stakers and lotto vendors are drinking is also becoming alarming.
He concluded by advising police officers and female journalists who review newspapers in the morning to stop drinking alcohol as it is very bad for their health.
