OBUASI SHS HEAD ACCUSED OF SEXUALLY ABUSING STUDENTS

Ghana — a country where we queue to vote, sometimes in harsh and unfavourable weather, to elect persons who end up protecting and shielding criminals who wreak havoc on the nation and its people. Imagine one of those girls allegedly raped or sexually molested by this headmaster was your child, your sister, or a family member. Elsewhere, cases from over a decade ago are revisited and perpetrators are dealt with without fear or favour — the Epstein case, R. Kelly, the recent case in a US university, etc. A similar thing is happening in my school. A Party Chairman and some party functionaries have ceded *SCHOOL LAND* to a private miner to do galamsey on land reserved for the school. Letters to the Education Directorate, the DCE, and the Assemblyman have received no attention. We have petitioned media houses with pictures and videos of the illegality, yet we have received no response. Where, when, and why should someone who commits an offence be allowed to walk free simply because he is a party "somebody"? I wish for the day when the youth of this country will awaken, stand up, and demand justice, as is happening in France and India now.
