EDUCATIONALIST CALLS FOR REVIEW OF CHILD PROTECTION LAWS AND SCHOOL DISCIPLINE

Educationalist Mr Samuel Obimpah has called for a review of child protection laws and disciplinary measures in schools, arguing that teachers need effective ways to maintain discipline among students. Speaking in an interview with Journalist Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, Mr Obimpah expressed concern that restrictions on corporal punishment and other disciplinary practices have made it difficult for some teachers to control students. He suggested that education authorities should consider appropriate disciplinary measures that would encourage students to respect teachers and school rules while ensuring that children's rights and dignity are protected.
