NO PROJECT ABANDONED - HON. EMMANUEL DRAH, UPPER WEST AKIM MP
The Member of Parliament for Upper West Akim, Honorable Emmanuel Drah, has rejected claims that he has abandoned projects started by the previous NPP government. Speaking to the media in the constituency on Saturday August 15 2026, the MP said his focus is on continuity and completion. Honorable Drah stated that reports suggesting he has abandoned uncompleted projects are false. He explained that since assuming office, his priority has been to identify projects started by the former administration and ensure they are continued for the benefit of constituents. The MP mentioned the Adeiso Presbyterian Senior High School project as a key example. He said he inherited an 18-unit classroom block that was only at foundation level. Work has now advanced to a three-storey structure. However, he noted that construction has been put on hold temporarily due to the ongoing rainy season but will resume shortly. Honorable Drah also referenced the Esikasu CHPS compound. According to him, the health facility was initiated by the previous NPP government and his office has taken steps to continue work on it to improve healthcare delivery in the area. Another project highlighted by the MP is the GNPC-supported facility at Asikasu RC. He said GNPC has indicated financial constraints, but he has not given up on the project. The MP disclosed that he has reached out to philanthropists and other organizations for support, and that allocations from the District Assembly Common Fund will also be channeled toward its completion. The MP stressed that these are the main inherited projects in the constituency. He stated that, apart from them, there are no other unfinished projects by the previous administration that his office has abandoned. Honorable Emmanuel Kofi Drah assured residents of Upper West Akim of his commitment to development. He said his administration will continue to work to complete ongoing projects and initiate new ones to improve infrastructure and living standards in the constituency.
