A 34-year-old lecturer, Eric Blankson, has been found dead at Maame Krobo in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District after an apparent robbery in which GH¢30,000 was reportedly stolen.

Mr. Blankson was a lecturer at the Amankwa Fisheries and Agricultural Technical Institute (AFATI) in Afram Plains North, a vocational and technical institution. According to family members, he had recently been promoted and transferred to Peki Technical Institute to continue his teaching career.

To celebrate the achievement, Mr. Blankson travelled to Maame Krobo to share the good news with his family.

Speaking to Osofoba on ICAD TV's Ghana Nti Morning Show with host Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, the deceased's younger brother explained that he operates a mobile money business and is also a distance-learning student. He said that because he had examinations to prepare for, he asked his elder brother to look after the mobile money shop while he attended to his studies.

According to him, Mr. Blankson agreed to help without hesitation.

He recounted that between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on July 15, he returned from studying and noticed that the mobile money shop had been locked. Assuming his brother had gone home, he proceeded to the house.

Upon arrival, he found his brother's slippers outside the door, but the house was locked from the inside. Concerned by the unusual situation, he forced the door open and discovered Mr. Blankson lying in a pool of blood.

He immediately alerted the police, who transported the body to the morgue for preservation and further investigations.

The family alleged that GH¢30,000 was stolen during the incident.

According to the deceased's brother, police have arrested one suspect who was allegedly found wearing clothing with bloodstains. Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and determine the suspect's involvement.
