Hon. Isaac Awuku Yibor Calls for Accra–Kumasi Expressway to Pass Through Hobor

Hon. Isaac Awuku Yibor, Member of Parliament for the Obom Domeabra Constituency, has raised concerns over the proposed route of the Accra–Kumasi Expressway. According to the MP, the original proposal was for the expressway to pass through the Adeiso–Nsawam corridor. He said Cabinet later considered a route through Ablekuma–Manhean–Afuaman–Ashalaja, with the possibility of directing the expressway through Hobor Township. Hon. Isaac Awuku Yibor cautioned that if the expressway is redirected away from Hobor Township, the township could miss out on the potential economic benefits of the major road project. He further expressed concern about the new alignment, saying it passes behind Hobor Township and extends towards Nusobri, with parts of the proposed route reportedly affecting properties and communities within the area.
