Swedru All Blacks FC say they are fully prepared for their upcoming fixture against Accra Hearts of Oak SC this Sunday, despite acknowledging the difficulty of the encounter.
Speaking in a phone-in interview with Paul Napoleon Agyemang on ICAD TV Sports Scoreboard, the club’s PRO, Nathaniel Obeng, admitted that facing Hearts of Oak is never easy.
He recalled that in their previous meeting, Hearts managed to score against them but pointed out that scoring remains a challenge for the Phobians. According to him, All Blacks are more focused on creating chances and are optimistic about securing victory on Sunday.
Obeng also highlighted improvements under the team’s current coach, noting that while performances have significantly improved, converting chances into goals remains a general challenge in Ghanaian football. He, however, expressed satisfaction with the team’s progress and remains hopeful of better results going forward.
On internal matters, he confirmed that the club’s CEO recently held discussions with him but declined to disclose details, stating that such meetings are not unusual and are part of ongoing club engagements. He added that the Supporters Union has been actively involved in communicating the team’s performance to the public.
Touching on officiating, Obeng said All Blacks are not treated differently from other clubs. He acknowledged that refereeing decisions can sometimes be controversial but emphasized that officiating is a difficult job that deserves support, as matches cannot proceed without referees.
Regarding relegation concerns, Obeng was confident that All Blacks will remain competitive. “We have come to stay,” he said, assuring supporters that although the club is not yet where it wants to be, there is a strong commitment to improvement and long-term stability.
The much-anticipated clash is expected to be a tough contest as both teams aim to strengthen their positions.
