Spiritual Forces Are Pursuing Wontumi Over Destroyed Rivers; He Could End Up Mad in Prison If Care Is Not Taken”

Rev. Kwarteng Anthony, popularly known as Abayifo Suro, has made a series of spiritual claims concerning Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi, during an interview with Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi on the ICADTV Ghana Nti Morning Show. According to Rev. Kwarteng, he had experienced dreams concerning Wontumi and subsequently advised him to take certain steps. However, he claimed that Wontumi did not follow his instructions. Rev. Kwarteng alleged that in one of the dreams, Wontumi was standing in a river surrounded by traditional leaders, who accused him of offending them and Sikadwa Kofi. He further claimed that the figures in the dream demanded 300 sheep as part of an alleged spiritual reconciliation. He said he subsequently asked some individuals to warn Wontumi about what he claimed to have seen, but alleged that Wontumi failed to take the warnings seriously. Rev. Kwarteng also accused Wontumi of becoming overly confident that the NPP would remain in power, while alleging that money and political influence affected his conduct and the way he communicated publicly. Commenting on Wontumi’s current legal difficulties, Rev. Kwarteng claimed that the situation could have been different if Wontumi had listened to his advice. He further warned that, in his view, Wontumi could face serious psychological difficulties in prison if the situation was not addressed. He made a strong appeal to the NPP and Wontumi’s family, saying: “If the NPP and Wontumi’s family do not kneel before the Asantehene and apologise for the gods to forgive him, no lawyer can help Wontumi.” Rev. Kwarteng further claimed that Sikadwa Kofi was angry with Wontumi over words he allegedly used in the past, and linked his spiritual concerns to the destruction of rivers and water bodies. He therefore urged Wontumi and his family to consider reconciliation, prayer and dialogue with traditional authorities.
