Mama Gaa Hobor I Appeals for Urgent Road Rehabilitation and Youth Employment*
The Queen Mother of Hobor Electoral Area, Mama Gaa Hobor I, has appealed to the government and relevant authorities to urgently address the poor condition of roads in the community.
She stated that the deplorable state of the roads is creating serious difficulties for residents, particularly pregnant women who sometimes have to be transferred from health facilities to other facilities for further treatment. She noted that although road rehabilitation works are ongoing, more needs to be done to improve accessibility in the area.
Mama Gaa Hobor I also appealed for urgent attention to the Accra–Kumasi Expressway, which passes through the community, stressing that measures should be taken to improve the road for the benefit of residents.
She further expressed concern about the increasing involvement of some young people in harmful substance use and other activities. She called on the government and stakeholders to create more employment opportunities and skills-development programmes for the youth so they can build productive futures rather than engage in activities that could destroy their lives.
According to her, the situation is particularly painful because both young men and women are increasingly becoming affected. She stressed that the youth are the future leaders of the community and appealed for immediate action to protect their future.
