Twelve students of Wilhemina Bishop Zion Senior High School (AMEZSS) in Old Tafo Akyem, Eastern Region, have been hospitalized following a suspected food poisoning incident.
Reports indicate that the affected students were rushed to Tafo Government Hospital and Kukurantumi Community Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical attention.
The exact cause of the illness has not yet been established. However, some students suspect that the incident may be linked to rice purchased from the school canteen, while others believe it could be associated with kenkey served in the school’s dining hall.
School authorities have acknowledged the situation and assured parents, students, and the general public that necessary steps are being taken to address the matter.
