The Member of Parliament for Offinso South and Ranking Member in Parliament, Hon. Dr. Isaac Yaw Opoku, has stated that the length of time a government or parliament serves is less important than its commitment to delivering results for the people. Hon. Dr. Isaac Yaw Opoku, a Ghanaian politician, agricultural scientist, and member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), previously served as the Executive Director of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG), a subsidiary of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD). Speaking in an interview with Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi on ICAD TV's Ghana Nti Morning Show, Hon. Dr. Opoku shared his views on the proposal to extend Ghana's governance term from four years to five years. According to him, the number of years a government remains in office does not necessarily determine its performance. He stressed that what truly matters is the commitment, dedication, and effectiveness of leaders in carrying out their responsibilities and delivering meaningful development for the country. He emphasized that regardless of whether a government serves four or five years, its success should be measured by the impact of its work and its commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaians.
