TEACHERS MUST NOT ABUSE THEIR AUTHORITY — OBIMPAH

Educationalist Mr Samuel Obimpah has raised concerns about the misuse of authority by some teachers in schools. According to him, some teachers allegedly threaten students with dismissal or impose personal tasks, such as fetching water for them, as a form of punishment. Speaking to Journalist Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, Mr Obimpah said such practices raise questions about the relationship between teachers and students and the need for clear disciplinary guidelines. He called for measures that would promote discipline without exposing children to intimidation, exploitation or abuse.
