PEACE WATCH GHANA PRESIDENT CALLS FOR AN END TO POLITICAL INSULTS AND RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP.

Madam Diana Nyonkopah Daniels, President of Peace Watch Ghana, has called on Ghanaian political leaders to desist from insults and inflammatory rhetoric, stressing the need for responsible and respectful political discourse. She referenced recent exchanges involving Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, MP for Effutu Constituency, and Hon. Sammy Gyamfi, CEO of GoldBod, and urged the public to allow the courts to determine matters that are before them rather than engaging in further verbal attacks. Madam Daniels expressed concern about what she described as a growing culture of insults in Ghanaian politics. She appealed to political parties, particularly leaders of the NPP, to reflect on their conduct and focus on issues that contribute positively to national development. She also criticised what she described as disrespectful comments directed at former First Lady Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, saying political disagreements should not lead to personal attacks against individuals or their families. According to her, such behaviour can have a negative influence on children and future generations. She recounted how her four-year-old grandchild questioned who was insulting the First Lady, describing the situation as disturbing. Madam Diana Nyonkopah Daniels therefore urged political leaders and their supporters to put an end to political insults and embrace tolerance, respect and constructive dialogue. She concluded by drawing attention to the example of Jesus Christ, calling on political actors to demonstrate humility, love and peaceful conduct in their dealings with one another.
