NPP Ready to Reclaim Lost Seats and Win 2028 Election — Alfred George Kojo Thompson
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is determined to return to power in 2028 with a clear strategy, strong principles and renewed focus, says National Treasurer hopeful Alfred Kojo Thompson. Speaking on the ICADTV Ghana Nti Morning Show with Nhyiraba Akwabena Asirifi, Mr. Thompson said the party has learned important lessons from its defeat in the 2024 election and is now better prepared for the 2028 polls. He attributed part of the NPP’s 2024 defeat to the global economic crisis and the party’s inability to effectively explain the economic situation, its policies and achievements to Ghanaians. “Global economic challenges, coupled with our failure to effectively explain our policies and achievements to Ghanaians, contributed to the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 election.” Mr. Thompson said the party is now focused on addressing its challenges, strengthening its structures and working together to achieve its objectives. He expressed confidence that the NPP will win more seats in the Central Region, reclaim seats it lost and support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s bid to become President of Ghana in 2028. “We will do everything within our power to retain the seats we lost and reclaim them for the NPP.” He added that the NPP is united, focused and adequately prepared for the 2028 elections
