NORTH INDUSTRIAL AREA FIRE: RESIDENTS SAY EFFORTS TO GET ASSISTANCE FROM DURAPLAST GHANA DELAYED
Residents in the North Industrial Area have recounted their efforts to contain the fire outbreak that occurred yesterday near the Duraplast Ghana Company. According to an eyewitness, some young men in the area contacted the company and appealed for fire extinguishers to help control the blaze. The company allegedly responded that the affected area was outside its property and therefore assistance could not immediately be provided. The eyewitness claimed that the fire later spread into the company’s premises, where large quantities of plastic products, including polytanks and pipes, were reportedly affected. The residents say they believe earlier assistance could have helped contain the situation, while the full extent of the damage is yet to be established. *Report by Nana Kwasi Enyan |ICAD TV|*
