MR. SMAUEL OBIMPAH CALLS FOR STRICT ENFORCEMENT OF RULES AGAINST SEXUAL ABUSE IN SCHOOLS
Educationalist Mr Samuel Obimpah has called for strict enforcement of laws and school regulations to address sexual misconduct involving students and adults in educational institutions.
In an interview with Journalist Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, Mr Obimpah argued that students' access to education should go hand in hand with effective disciplinary measures and protection from sexual exploitation.
He expressed concern about alleged sexual relationships between students and school authorities, including teachers, headmasters and senior housemasters, insisting that misconduct must attract appropriate consequences under the law.
During the discussion, Journalist Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi agreed that clear rules and effective sanctions could help address the problem.
Mr Obimpah urged education authorities, parents and school management to strengthen supervision, provide age-appropriate sexual health education and ensure that allegations of abuse are investigated fairly.
He emphasised that protecting students must remain a priority, and that adults entrusted with their education and welfare should be held accountable for any proven misconduct.
