Hon. Opoku Adusei Backs Minority's Call for Attorney-General's Dismissal

The Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Hon. Ralph Opoku Adusei, has expressed support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Minority Caucus's call for the dismissal of the Attorney-General over the release of GH¢350 million for the national flood response. Speaking on ICAD TV's Ghana Nti Morning Show, Hon. Opoku Adusei argued that the Attorney-General must be held accountable if it is established that he acted outside the provisions of the Constitution. According to him, no public official has the authority to override due legal processes or place themselves above the law. The Bekwai MP maintained that the Minority Caucus would continue to pursue the matter through the appropriate constitutional and parliamentary channels until, in their view, accountability is ensured. He stressed that adherence to the rule of law and transparency in the management of public funds are fundamental to good governance. Hon. Opoku Adusei added that all public officials, regardless of their office, must act within the confines of the Constitution and be held accountable for their decisions. The comments reflect the position of the NPP Minority Caucus. The Attorney-General has the opportunity to respond to the allegations and explain the legal basis for the release of the funds.
