GHANA PREMIER LEAGUE OFFICIATING- IS NOT FAIR: FRANCISCA ABOAGYEWAAH

Francisca Abogyewaah, a supporter of Asante Kotoko, has strongly criticized the standard of officiating in the club’s recent match against Karela United in Tamale. Speaking in an interview with Paul Napoleon on the Sports Score Board program on ICAD TV, Francisca said leaders in Ghana football are not being truthful about the current state of officiating in the Ghana Premier League. She questioned the red card shown to Kotoko player Camara during the match, insisting that it was not a red card and that the referee’s decision was unfair. According to her, the incident led to the release of Kotoko’s “green paper” to express concerns over the decision. Francisca said she has followed the Ghana Premier League for about 15 years but believes the current officiating is discouraging supporters. She stated that if the Ghana Football Association appoints good people to lead the game, she will continue to follow the league. She also added that until FA President Kurt Okraku leaves office, she may stop following the league because of what she describes as poor officiating. According to her, even supporters of Camara United expressed similar concerns about the referees, claiming that some officials appear to have already decided match results before arriving on the field. Francisca further spoke about the new board members of Kotoko, stating that supporters have no problem with the board. However, she emphasized that the club urgently needs a coach, as Kotoko still has nine matches to play before the end of the season, and the absence of a head coach is affecting the team’s performance.
