CHAIRMAN SOLOMON ENDORSES NEW BOARD MEMBERS, SPEAKS ON KOTOKO’S FUTURE.

Chairman Solomon has thrown his full support behind the newly appointed board members of Asante Kotoko SC, describing their selection as expected and well-deserved. Speaking in an interview with Paul Napoleon on Sports Score Board on ICAD TV, Chairman Solomon shared his views on the club’s leadership direction, internal unity, and recent performances. On the Appointment of New Board Members Reacting to the announcement of Mr. James Osei as Chairman, Mr. Kwesi Osei Offor as Vice Chairman, and Mr. Kofi Amoah Abban as Board Member, Chairman Solomon said he was not surprised by the development. “I knew it would come,” he stated confidently. He described all three individuals as reputable personalities who have conducted themselves well over the years. “They are very good people. They have led good lives so far, and I support their appointment fully.” According to him, what the club needs at this stage is stability, experience, and unity at the top level, adding that the new board members possess the qualities required to move the club forward. On Nana Pinkra’s Role Chairman Solomon also addressed discussions surrounding Nana Pinkra’s role within the club’s administration. He acknowledged that when Nana Pinkra initially joined, he did not have much football experience. However, he pointed out that over the past three years, he has gained valuable knowledge and understanding of the system. “If we sack him and bring in someone new again, it will not help. He has learned a lot within these three years,” he explained. He emphasized that continuity is important in football administration and frequent changes can destabilize a team’s long-term vision. On Future Appointments As the Global Supporters Chairman of Kotoko, Chairman Solomon stressed that any future appointment to key roles within the team should ideally come from someone deeply connected to the club. “If we need someone again to work in the team, the person must be a member of Kotoko,” he said. He added that unity among supporters remains crucial, and leadership decisions must reflect the collective interest of the club. On Board Tenure and Supporters’ Expectations Chairman Solomon admitted he was not fully certain about the duration of service for the new board, but indicated that many supporters have suggested an eight-year term. He noted that all those appointed are qualified and capable. “If I choose one over the others, the rest may feel sad. I have no issue with anyone, so I cannot single out one person,” he said. He reaffirmed that he would support whoever is officially confirmed to serve, stressing that his priority is the success of the club rather than personal preferences. On the Loss to Hearts of Oak Touching on Kotoko’s recent defeat to Accra Hearts of Oak, Chairman Solomon acknowledged the disappointment among supporters. However, he maintained a determined posture: “I will support whoever comes. We lost the match, but we must move forward.” He urged players, management, and fans to remain united, emphasizing that setbacks are part of football and what matters most is the response after a defeat.
