ASIEDU CALLS FOR WITNESSES AND TRANSPARENCY IN FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS
Security expert Mr. Andrews Tetteh Asiedu has called for greater transparency and accountability in high-value financial transactions, recommending the involvement of witnesses and appropriate institutions where necessary.
Speaking in an interview with Journalist Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, Mr Asiedu explained that people entering into major business agreements must take steps to ensure that their transactions can be verified and properly documented.
Using the example of an online vehicle purchase involving an alleged payment of GH¢32,000, he stressed the importance of confirming the identities of the parties involved and keeping reliable evidence of payment.
He suggested that involving two witnesses and conducting payments through a bank could help provide additional safeguards for both parties.
Mr. Asiedu also mentioned the possible involvement of the police in situations where their presence or assistance would help ensure transparency and address concerns about suspected wrongdoing.
He urged the public to remain vigilant when conducting online business and other financial transactions, particularly where substantial sums of money are involved.
According to him, proper documentation, independent verification and clear procedures can help reduce disputes, discourage fraud and protect individuals from avoidable financial losses.
