ARMAH SENEGAL CALLS FOR DISCIPLINE IN THE GHANA NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

Former Black Stars player Armah Senegal has called for stronger discipline and unity in the Ghana national football team to improve performance. Speaking in an interview with sports journalist Paul Napoleon Agyemang on the Sports Scoreboard program on ICAD TV, Armah Senegal said dedication and discipline were key values during his playing days with the national team. He explained that players in the past often sacrificed rest and comfort to train hard and represent the country with pride. According to him, indiscipline in recent times has affected the team’s progress and has also reduced opportunities for talented players from local clubs to be recognized. Armah Senegal also urged the head coach, Otto Addo, to take firm control of the squad and ensure that players follow instructions and work together as a unit. He stressed that while coaches provide guidance, it is the players who ultimately make the difference on the pitch. The former player further suggested that experienced ex-Black Stars stars should be invited to mentor the current squad, noting that countries like the Senegal national football team involve former players in guiding younger footballers. He added that many retired players feel the country has not adequately recognized their sacrifices and called on authorities, including President John Mahama, to consider supporting former national team players. Armah Senegal concluded by encouraging current Black Stars players to stay focused, train harder, and remain committed to representing Ghana with discipline and pride.
