ALLEGATIONS THAT YOUNG APOSTLES THREATENED ATA POKU ARE FALSE – EVANS OSEI
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Young Apostles FC, Evans Osei, has dismissed allegations circulating that Ata Poku was threatened during a recent incident involving the club, describing the claims as false.
According to Evans Osei, there is a good relationship between the people of Wenchi and Dormaa, and there is no reason for chaos to occur between them.
“In fact, nothing happened because I personally led Ata Poku to the stadium,” he stated.
He explained that he heard a commotion at the entrance of the stadium and went to find out what was happening. Upon arriving at the scene, he discovered that it was merely an argument among some supporters and had nothing to do directly with Ata Poku.
“I told him to distance himself from where the noise was coming from,” he added.
Evans Osei further explained that Ata Poku left the stadium before kick-off, although he could not confirm when he returned. However, around the 60th minute of the game, he saw him entering the VIP section.
He stated that the police officers on duty approached Ata Poku and offered to escort him into the stadium, but he declined, indicating that he was comfortable where he was.
According to the PRO, the club was surprised the following day when Aduana FC published statements on its social media platforms alleging that Young Apostles had prevented Ata Poku from entering the stadium.
“That is not true,” he insisted.
Evans Osei also claimed that Ata Poku later called the police officers and apologised to them. He accused Ata Poku of tarnishing the image of Young Apostles FC and the people of Wenchi and disclosed that the club had reported the matter to the police.
He made these statements during an interview with Paul Napoleon Agyeman, host of Scoreboard.
