Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association PRO Criticises Afenyo-Markin’s Remarks on Wontumi, Camilla Mohammed

The Public Relations Officer of the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association, Benjamin Takyi Addo, has criticised comments made by the Minority Leader, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, regarding the release of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Wontumi, and Camilla Mohammed. Speaking in an interview with Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi on ICAD TV’s Ghana Nti Morning Show, Mr. Takyi Addo said he respects the Minority Leader but believes his comments on the matter, made on the floor of Parliament, were inappropriate. “I have great respect for the Minority Leader, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin. However, I believe his comments on the release of Wontumi and Camilla Mohammed on the floor of Parliament were below the belt,” he said. Mr. Takyi Addo called on political leaders to exercise restraint in their public statements, particularly on issues that attract significant public interest. He stressed the importance of respectful and responsible communication among political actors to promote constructive dialogue within Ghana’s democratic space.
