“SECURITY IS NOT FOR POLICE ALONE” – ANALYST COMMENDS GHANA POLICE SERVICE- MR. ANDREWS ASEIDU TETTEH

A security analyst,Mr. Andrews Aseidu Tetteh, has applauded the Ghana Police Service for their efforts in maintaining law and order, stressing that ensuring security in the country should not be left to the police alone. Speaking in an interview on a morning show hosted by Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, the analyst noted that modern crime requires the use of technology, particularly surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras. According to him, in recent incidents, the presence of security cameras played a crucial role in preventing criminals from escaping after attempting to steal valuable items. He explained that without such systems in place, suspects could have easily carried out their activities and fled without detection. Mr. Tetteh emphasized that individuals and business owners, especially mobile money (MoMo) operators, must take proactive steps to protect themselves. He advised them to install security cameras and adopt additional safety measures to reduce the risk of robbery. He further explained that beyond cameras, there are other security methods and tools that can help strengthen protection, adding that citizens must remain alert and cautious in their daily activities, including verifying visitors before granting access to their premises. Touching on national issues, he also stated that while people may have different opinions on sensitive topics, Ghanaians should focus on holding institutions accountable. He urged citizens to put pressure on the Parliament of Ghana to ensure that decisions taken reflect the interest of the people. The analyst concluded that a safer Ghana can only be achieved when both the police and the public work together, stressing that security is a shared responsibility. Editor Mavis Addo
