POLITICAL ANALYST PROF. NANA OSEI PIESIE ANTO HAS CRITICIZED PRESIDENT JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA'S RESPONSE TO NATIONAL CHALLENGES, EXPRESSING DISAPPOINTMENT WITH WHAT HE DESCRIBES AS THE PRESIDENT'S INACTION ON KEY ISSUES.

Speaking in a phone interview on the Ghana Nti Morning Show with Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, Prof. Piesie Anto argued that the failure to reconstruct the Korle Lagoon after the change in government has contributed to the recent devastating floods. He said that although the project was not undertaken during the previous administration, he believes the current government should have acted after assuming office. He further stated that President Mahama needs to be more proactive, adding that, in his view, the governing party's revolutionary background should be reflected in decisive leadership. Prof. Piesie Anto also compared Mahama's leadership with that of former President Nana Akufo-Addo, arguing that Akufo-Addo took deliberate steps on certain governance matters, including measures intended to safeguard public funds.
