Paa Willie Commends GH¢2 Diesel Price Cut, Says Fare Decision Pending Union Meeting
The National Chairman of the Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana (C-DAG), William Osei, popularly known as Paa Willie, has commended the government for reducing diesel prices by GH¢2, describing it as a welcome relief for commercial drivers.
Speaking on the Ghana Nti Morning Show with host Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi on ICADTV , he expressed gratitude for the intervention.
“We are very grateful to the government for the GH¢2 reduction in diesel prices,” he stated.
On transport fares, Paa Willie said no decision has been made yet, adding that transport unions will meet tomorrow to deliberate before any announcement is issued. He also noted that the association will respect the government’s request for a one-month waiting period.
“The decision on transport fares will be made after tomorrow’s meeting with the transport unions. Since the government has asked us to wait for one month, we will honour that request,” he said.
Paa Willie also urged government to extend the GH¢2 reduction to petrol as it applies only to diesel, noting that many commercial vehicles rely on petrol and should also benefit.
