Medeama FC Ready for New Season After Squad Overhaul – Communications Director Benjamin Willie Graham

Medeama Sporting Club has expressed confidence ahead of the new football season after strengthening its squad with several new signings while parting ways with a number of players. Speaking in an interview on ICADTV Sports, the club’s Communications Director, Benjamin Willie Graham, said every player and official at Medeama shares the same ambition of helping the club achieve its objectives. “Every player who joins Medeama has the same mission as the club. We are building a team capable of competing at the highest level,” he said. As part of the club’s preparations for the upcoming campaign, Graham confirmed that Medeama has terminated the contracts of several players, including Kofi Asmah, Ebenezer Ackahbi etc. He also announced a number of new arrivals, including Dominic Amponsah, Yaya Abdul-Rahman from Karela United, Emmanuel Boateng from Eleven Wonders, Emmanuel Annor from Nations FC, Emmanuel Fobi, and Bless Kwabena Dwane, among others. According to Graham, the club currently has no injury concerns, with the entire squad fit and available for selection as Medeama prepares for the CAF competitions and the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season. “We have no injured players at the moment. Everyone is ready for the challenges ahead, and we believe the squad is well prepared for the season,” he noted. On stadium infrastructure, Graham said football authorities are placing greater emphasis on club licensing requirements, including stadium control, hospitality, safety, and other facilities to ensure venues meet the required standards. Looking ahead to the new campaign, he stressed that Medeama will approach the season one match at a time. “Every match is winnable. Our focus is to take each game as it comes and give our best,” he added. Touching on international football, Graham shared his thoughts on the FIFA World Cup, saying although Argentina has the quality to challenge for the title, he believes Spain currently has the edge. “Argentina has a team capable of winning the trophy, but Spain has the advantage. During their meeting, Spain controlled the game very well, and I didn’t see Argentina finding a way through,” he said. He further noted that incidents occurring after matches should not be allowed to damage the image and reputation of football or team.
