KWAHU EASTER 2026: KWEHU OBO BENKUMHENE RELEASES FULL ACTIVITY SCHEDULE ON ICADTV GHANA NTI
Nana Osei Kissi kwehu Obo benkum Hene has released the full schedule of activities for the Kwahu Easter 2026 celebrations, outlining a structured programme aimed at promoting culture, unity, and economic development.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi on ICAD TV’s Ghana Nti Today morning show, the traditional leader said preparations have already begun across Kwahu ahead of the annual festivities.
He explained that the programme begins with a citywide clean-up exercise on Monday to prepare the area for visitors expected during the Easter period. This will be followed by a media briefing on Tuesday, where the full schedule will be officially presented.
According to him, traditional rites will begin on Wednesday with prayers to the gods for safe travels, while Thursday will see the local council of churches gathering for prayers, reflecting unity between traditional and Christian faiths.
On Friday, clans will gather to share their histories as part of efforts to preserve cultural heritage and educate the younger generation.
He added that Saturday’s programme will include a memorial event in honour of the late Edward Omane Boamah, during which a statue will be unveiled and an ICT centre named after him. John Dramani Mahama is expected to attend the event.
The day will also feature the Kwahu Business Forum to promote investment and entrepreneurship, followed by a beauty pageant and food bazaar to climax the celebrations.
He assured the public that security arrangements have been strengthened to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration.
