"I Would Gladly Drop the GUM Party If President Mahama Fulfils His Promises to Ghanaians"

Founder and leader of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has said he would consider abandoning his party and campaigning for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) if President John Dramani Mahama fulfils his manifesto promises to Ghanaians. Speaking on ICAD TV’s Nti Morning Show with Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, Osofo Kyiri Abosom, who is also the founder and General Overseer of the Life Assembly Worship Centre, said the actions and policies of President Mahama align with the vision he had for the country. “I would drop my party and campaign for the NDC if President John Dramani Mahama fulfils his manifesto promises to Ghanaians,” he stated. He said President Mahama has already made progress in fulfilling some of his campaign commitments, citing examples such as the proposed change of the name of Kotoka International Airport, plans for railway development from Accra to Kumasi, and other initiatives. Osofo Kyiri Abosom further expressed his wish that President Mahama could serve another term beyond the constitutionally allowed limits, arguing that he believes the President has the capacity to continue implementing his vision for national development. He described President Mahama as a leader capable of improving Ghana’s situation and urged Ghanaians to support him if he seeks another mandate. The GUM leader also encouraged President Mahama not to consider stepping aside due to fatigue, stating that he believes the President remains capable of leading the country effectively.
