HON. FRANK ASIEDU BEKOE SPEAKS ABOUT HIS DONATION TO THE SUHUM CONSTITUENCY
Hon. Frank Asiedu Bekoe, popularly known as "Protozoa," is a Ghanaian politician, educator, and political strategist who serves as the Member of Parliament for the Suhum Constituency in the Eastern Region.
As part of his continued commitment to the development of the constituency, Hon. Frank Asiedu Bekoe recently extended support to commercial riders in Suhum by donating free fuel worth GH¢60 each to more than 600 Okada (motorcycle) and Pragyia (tricycle) riders.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi on the Ghana Nti Morning Show, Hon. Frank Asiedu Bekoe explained that unemployment remains one of the biggest challenges facing the youth. He said the fuel donation was intended to ease the financial burden on riders and positively impact their livelihoods.
During the interview, he also commended Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for donating relief items to victims affected by flooding in Bortianor–Ngleshie Amanfrom and Awoshie A Lang, describing the gesture as commendable and beneficial to those affected.
Hon. Frank Asiedu Bekoe further stated that President John Dramani Mahama should have toured the flood-affected communities on foot rather than using a helicopter. According to him, walking through the affected areas would have given the President the opportunity to interact directly with victims and gain a better understanding of the hardships they were experiencing.
Commenting on the economy, Hon. Frank Asiedu Bekoe argued that Ghana's economy in 2024 was in a better state than it is currently. He acknowledged that the exchange rate of the Ghana cedi against the U.S. dollar has stabilized but maintained that many Ghanaians continue to face difficulties in buying and selling due to prevailing economic conditions.
