ECONOMIST SAMSON ANOMAH URGES GHANA TO EXERCISE CAUTION OVER BRICS PARTNERSHIP
Economist Samson Anomah has urged Ghana to exercise caution in considering closer economic partnerships with the BRICS bloc, warning that the country must carefully assess the potential economic and geopolitical implications. Speaking in an interview with Journalist Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, Mr. Anomah expressed concerns about the possible consequences of Ghana deepening its engagement with countries such as China and Russia. According to him, Ghana must consider its existing relationships with traditional economic partners, including the United States and European countries, before making decisions that could affect its international relations. He argued that Ghana should thoroughly examine the potential benefits and risks of joining new economic partnerships, particularly in view of the country's economic vulnerabilities. Mr. Anomah stressed that international partnerships should be guided by Ghana's national interests rather than political considerations. He therefore called on the government to undertake a comprehensive assessment of the implications before committing the country to any new arrangement. Reported by: Nana Kwasi Enyan | ICAD TV
