Many cocoa farmers say they currently have no representative or advocate to address their concerns, leaving them feeling neglected. Speaking on ICAD TV’s morning show Ghana Nti Today host Nana Nhyiraba kwabena Asrifi, Mr. Paul Yandoh, NPP Communications Director for the Ashanti Region, appealed to the government and specifically Finance Minister Ato Forson to intervene on behalf of the farmers. Mr. Yandoh emphasized the need for fairness, pointing out the disparities between early sellers and those yet to bring their cocoa. “Those who sold early should not be penalized because of system errors or delays,” he said, calling for immediate action to ensure all farmers receive equitable payments.
