GPRTU COMMENDS GOVERNMENT OVER GH¢2 FUEL PRICE REDUCTION
The Deputy Communications Director of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Samuel Amoah, has commended the government for the recent GH¢2 reduction in fuel prices, describing the intervention as a positive step toward easing the burden on transport operators and commuters.
Speaking with Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi on the Ghana Nti Morning Show on ICAD TV, Mr. Amoah said this is the second time the government has intervened to address fuel price concerns, a move he believes demonstrates his commitment to stabilising the transport sector.
He disclosed that the GPRTU will soon meet to review the latest development and decide whether to proceed with its proposed 30% transport fare adjustment.
Mr. Amoah noted that the union is also awaiting the government's one-month commitment to further reduce fuel prices before taking a final decision on any fare increase.
