G.F.P PARTY REMAINS STRONG AFTER AKUA DONKOR’S PASSING – GENERAL SECRETARY.
Accra, Ghana – The General Secretary of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Mr. George Afful, has stated that the party remains active and vibrant one year after the passing of its founder and leader, Madam Akua Donkor. Speaking in an interview with Nana Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi on ICAD TV’s morning show Ghana Nti today, Mr. Afful assured supporters that the party is reorganizing and preparing for the future. According to him, the GFP plans to establish offices across all 16 regions of Ghana beginning in February as part of efforts to strengthen its presence nationwide. He explained that the party has been working behind the scenes to restructure and organize its activities ahead of the 2028 general elections. Mr. Afful disclosed that the party intends to elect a new leader in 2027 who will lead GFP into the 2028 elections. Addressing concerns about the party’s previous running mate being declined by the Electoral Commission, he stated that the party will elect a new candidate in accordance with electoral guidelines. He emphasized that many Ghanaians are calling on the Ghana Freedom Party to offer leadership and solutions to the country's challenges. According to him, citizens are dissatisfied with the two major political parties, the NDC and the NPP, and are looking for change. Mr. Afful reaffirmed the party’s commitment to bringing transformation and development to Ghana.
